Wichita Falls and Northwestern Railway
The Wichita Falls and Northwestern Railway was among several short-line railroads which in the first half of the 20th century extended like the spokes of a wheel from the hub city of Wichita Falls, Texas. Its principal owners were the entrepreneurs Joseph A. Kemp and his brother-in-law, Frank Kell.

nrhp # 83002069- The Knowles Grain Elevator was constructed in 1913 for the Sappington Grain Company. It was a line elevator on the Wichita Falls and Northwestern Railway which began servicing the town in the summer of 1912. The elevator is a woodframe elevator sheathed in corrugated metal. The elevator serviced eastern Beaver County until the Great Depression and Dust Bowl led to it being abandoned. The elevator was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. from waymarking.com
