Arakan Mountains
The Arakan Mountains (Arakan Range, Rakhine Range, Rakhine Yoma , Arakan Yoma, Rakhine Roma, Arakan Roma; Burmese: ရခိုင်ရိုးမ) is a mountain range in western Burma (Myanmar), between the coast of Rakhine State and the Central Burma Basin, in which flows the Irrawaddy River. It is the most prominent of a series of parallel ridges that arc through Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Burma. The Arakan Mountains run from Cape Negrais in the south in to the Manipur State of India in the north. They include the Naga Hills, the Chin Hills, and the Patkai range which includes the Lushai Hills. These mountains are submerged in Bay of Bengal for sufficiently long stretch and emerges again in the form of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

MAHARLIKAN: from Arakan Valley, Mindanao to Arakan Mountains, Myanmar
In Mindanao island of the Maharlikan lands there exists a place of breathtaking panorama known as the Arakan Valley that stretched along the boundaries of the Davao and North Cotabato provinces, its hills and ranges interspersed with pockets of fog and mist giving a scenic landscape of mystic beauty .  Among the Indigenous Peoples that for centuries lived in this mist veiled valley were the sub-groups of Ata-Manuvu Tribe known as the Talaingod, or “mountain people”.

arakan.pyu: History of ARAKAN (Collection)
The history of ARAKAN dates back to ancient times and involves a complex web of differing races, religions and kingdoms. The ARAKAN region is located on the Western side of what is now known as Myanmar (Burma) and although it is separated from the rest of Burma by a vast mountain range, it has felt the consequences of sharing close proximity with Burma, Thailand, China, India and Bangladesh.

Arakanese kingdoms are lesser known to the outside world compare to those of Pagan and Pyu sites despite their long history and abundant archaeological remains. Poor transportation facilities, torrent monsoon weather and notorious malaria were among the reasons preventing Arakan researches.
